When creating a new business, all entrepreneurs face their own moments of difficulty they must overcome throughout their journey. However, they may also encounter some challenges that are common for everyone when developing a new business. While most may want to be independent as possible in their venture, production and growth of a business can flourish with occasional assistance from others.
On Oct. 8, four different businesses met at the Founder’s Forum, a meeting hosted by Louisiana Tech’s Technology Business Development Center. This forum was created specifically to help start conversation among business founders of relatively new ventures in north central Louisiana. The groups were able to share their personal successes, challenges and ideas with one another.
Some challenges discussed at the meeting were communication between business and customers as well as time management within a business. By listening to each other’s difficulties and offering unique solutions, these business owners were each able to gain valuable insight for their own ventures while also helping others within the group.
Some of the entrepreneurs even shared similar problems in business development such as where to find reliable sources to answer important business questions. By setting this relatable topic on the table, they were able to address an issue faced by every business. All agreed that speaking with a viable business within your particular field can be helpful in this situation. Have questions prepared to ask them and see what sources they deem as reliable for business information.
Part of the meeting also discussed words each entrepreneur thought were important aspects in developing a business such as persistence, acceptance, discipline and sleep.
Every business owner involved was able to offer up their own ideas and gain new perspective from others in the Founder’s Forum. While still being independent in their own venture, each entrepreneur realized communication with others is important, and sometimes asking for help is beneficial.
